Two Wins for Club 'A' Hockey

Fairfield, CT-  Sacred Heart looked to bounce back after two tough conference losses last weekend and did just that with a home victory over in-state rivals Eastern Connecticut State University 5-0 and away against Bryant University 4-1.

Senior Captain Jack Pardue continued his point streak with an additional 2 goals and 4 assists on the weekend.

Assistant Captain Frank Vetere also improved his stats with 1 goal and 3 assists of his own.

Freshmen Mike McGovern and Alex Welch netted points of their own each with a goal and an additional assist.

Darius Souza, Drew Homola, and Ryan Gawricki continued the celebration by all scoring a goal of their own.

Freshman Josh Azar scored his first college career goal in front a home crowd Friday night.

Mike Zdanowicz recorded 2 assists on the weekend and Freshman Ryan Flynn inked his first college point with an assist.

Goaltender Brandon Rozzi recorded his first shutout of the season. After 120 minutes of play, Rozzi only allowed 1 goal against on 60 shots.

The Pioneers now focus their attention to Friday night as the team with face the University of New Hampshire Wildcats in conference play on home ice before taking the trip to Boston and squaring off against the Northeastern University Huskies.
