Bryant's Hat Trick Leads Women's Lacrosse To A Win Over Trinity College

Hartford, CT-  Sacred Heart Women's Club Lacrosse played at Trinity College on Sunday 4/7, it was a close game as SHU won 10-9. The game was back & forth, in net splitting the halves were Holly Groff & Jerry Ciopl who played outstanding. Liv Bryant had herself a game scoring a hat trick. CC Calabrese had a pair of goals as well. Elizabeth "Spaddy" Spadafino scored a goal to contribute to the pioneers win over Trinity College. Freshman Lainie Martin played strong throughout the game on attack also scoring a goal. Senior Captain Catie Gadue played against a hometown friend & old teammate on the Trinity team but was focused on coming out with a win for her team. Gadue was another player to add to SHU's 10 goals.

On April 8th, Women's Club Lacrosse played at Fairfield University for a rematch against our cross town rivals. Unfortunately, the Pioneers lost to the Stags but the team played big in the last half, generating another 3 goals. Both CC Calabrese & Liv Bryant had 2 goals each. The final score was 13-5. Key player of the game goes to Abby "DUKE" Hoey, a freshman who was a standout defender for the pioneers this game. DUKE was a key player on transitions as well as using her speed to take the ball right through the midfield. The SHU Women's Club Lacrosse team would like to thank all of fans and supports who followed us throughout our spring season. The Pioneers are looking forward to this weekend as we head to the NEWLL Regional Tournament in Sudbury, MA.
